Tosca
Tosca is one of Giacomo Puccini's best known and most frequently performed operas. A melodramatic tour de force set in Rome in 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples's control of Rome threatened by Napoleon's invasion of Italy, the piece features as powerful score and characters to match.
Scenes of torture, murder and suicide, laced with some of Puccini's best-known lyrical arias provide the setting for one of Opera's most dramatic love stories with a simply unforgettable finale. Tosca at London's Royal Opera House was the final performance of La Divina.
